Inquiries and communication
How do you prepare and track an education offer in Course?
In Course, an education offer is prepared for a particular inquiry. It records the offer title, description, product or service line items, payment terms, and validity date. The resulting customer link lets the recipient view the offer without signing in.
An offer sets out the education and price for the prospective customer to consider. Acceptance records their response; it does not, by itself, create a student record, sale, or payment.

Complete the offer fields accurately
When an offer has multiple items, totals are recalculated from the line items. Compare the saved items and total rather than relying on an amount typed manually into the description.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Title and description | Name the offer and describe the scope shown to the customer. |
| Line item name / product | Identify what the item covers; you can link it to a catalog product. |
| Quantity and unit price | Provide the basis for the item amount before any discount. |
| Discount rate | Affects the discounted amount for that item. |
| Installment count | Specifies the payment option shown in the offer. |
| Validity date | Used to determine whether the offer can still be answered. |
Prepare and review the offer
Start from the correct inquiry.
Confirm whose inquiry the offer will belong to. Selecting the right inquiry lets you find the customer's response on the correct follow-up record.
Set the items and terms.
Enter item names, quantities, prices, and discounts. Describe only the education you will actually provide; a catalog product name alone may not explain its full scope.
Review the dates and description.
Check the offer date, validity date, and installment count. If you used a description template, adjust its wording about the scope and payment terms to match this offer.
Check the customer view.
Inspect the title, items, and totals through the saved offer's share link. Track the offer's status from the inquiry details, keeping the customer's response distinct from subsequent enrollment or sales steps.
How do acceptance, rejection, and expiry work?
The customer can accept or reject an offer through its link only while it is pending and has not expired. An offer that has already been answered or has expired cannot be answered again. The validity date therefore affects more than the explanatory text.
Acceptance changes the offer's status. To proceed with a sale, the related inquiry, student, and sale records still need to be handled through their respective workflow. Opening the link, accepting the offer, and paying the fee are separate events.
What should you check before sharing?
The customer page shows each item's quantity, price, and discount alongside the overall total. Make sure the described education matches those items, the installment count does not conflict with the description, and the validity date is correct.
The share link opens the customer view without requiring a sign-in. Share it with the intended recipient. Do not record the act of sending as customer acceptance; use a separate task for the next follow-up.
Frequently asked questions
Does accepting an offer automatically collect a payment?
No. Acceptance changes the offer's status. Sale and payment records are created through separate actions.
How is the offer total determined?
For an offer with line items, amounts are based on each item's quantity, unit price, and discount. Totals are recalculated when the offer is saved.
Does the customer need a Course account to view the offer?
No. The share link opens the customer view without a sign-in. It does not grant access to the inquiry management screen.
